School Jobs

School jobs are often associated with teaching positions. Though that may be the first cognitive inference the overall majority will draw, it does not prove true that all school jobs deal strictly in education. However, teaching jobs and school jobs do have one thing in common: job stability. Because of the majority occupations at associated with schools and academic institutions are to be considered as civil service jobs, it can be implied that in obtaining such a position you will have access to certain perks that come with the job that other careers may not. Health benefits, pension and retirement plans, and other statures included in civil service jobs make school jobs extremely desirable. Though the majority will think teaching is necessary for a school job, that is not so. There other careers that a school job may encompass. Among those are: custodian, security guard, administrator, secretaries, librarians, bus drivers, etc. For the most part, all of the aforementioned positions are considered civil service jobs and many have union representation. In having union representation, certain rights and privileges are bestowed in agreement between employer and employee, and any violation to such contract may bring ill-advised circumstances such a strike. Unions make it extremely hard for permanent position employees to lose their positions, unless there are extreme circumstances to validate such a decision. Though many school jobs may not provide for much monetary gain in comparison to other jobs, a successful living may be achieved. School jobs have become a different avenue for those seeking alternative means of employment in such a troubled economy. It would also be untrue to say that there is no form of upward mobility in school jobs. An entry level full-time custodian may start off making hourly wages, but with time, effort, and experience, he/she may end up in the head custodial position which may amount in earnings up to six figures including over-time. Many of the higher-echelon school jobs not only provide for a stable career, but also the salaries that many would desire at any given point.

Like any other working environment, school jobs will also have a system of hierarchy that will but as not limited to pay grades. Those fortunate enough to earn the opportunities to rise to the top are better off than other people in other career circles which may include doctors, physician, accountants, etc. The key aspect to note is the fact that school jobs can ultimately lead to a prosperous career. In many instances, school jobs afford the opportunity to people who may have not been fortunate to receive a post-secondary education because of factors out their own hands a chance to establish a career that has been earned through hard work. In some instances, hard work, effort, and experience can amount the necessary qualifications to deserve a high-paying, high-ranking jobs. School jobs is but one those employment opportunities that allows for such situations to happen.

Teaching Jobs

Teaching jobs in the United States are growing and allowing for many employment opportunities with those with the appropriate credentials. Teaching jobs at the academic level are highly regarded positions that allow for job stability and potential upward mobility. Typically speaking, teaching jobs will vary according to each state’s need, but is apparent that inner-city schools would most benefit from acquiring new positions. Unfortunately, that is not the case. In many cases, it is the very schools that need the most help in regards to obtaining qualified teachers that are either eliminating various teaching jobs, or are simply not able to hire new faculty. Through various studies conducted throughout the years, they have made it painfully evident the quality of education being received by students in inner city schools is in correlation to the success they have in obtaining a better quality of life. It can be inferred that because most inner city schools lack the skilled and qualified teachers or simply the teaching jobs themselves, that the level of education being taught in many of the nations over-populated urban areas is sub-standard. This impedes many students from achieving the necessary skill levels to move on to college to further … Continue reading

Art Education Jobs

Art education jobs will vary according to the particular discipline they adhere to. Generally speaking, the arts pertain to anything related to the visual arts, music, dance, and drama. Art education jobs and their demand will invariably depend upon which particular aspect one is trained in, the level of skill achieved, and the availability of that specific genre of art at any given institution. The most unfortunate aspect of art education jobs is that not all educational institutions–private or public–will have programs concerning it due to lack of funds by the state or otherwise. Often, when budget cuts need to occur in a school district, more often than not the two that will often be eliminated are after-school and art programs. Another facet of education careers that lure in recent college graduates and others alike is a comprehensive benefits package that private employers or corporations find hard to compete with. Generally speaking, to be eligible for a position for a higher education job, the prospective employee will have generally already received a Bacherlor’s Degree and is currently working on receiving a Master’s Degree in a particular area of study. This, however, is not strictly adhered to all higher education institutions, but typically, in terms of providing for an educator at such a facility, nothing less than a Master’s Degree will suffice. The reason seems simple and logical enough: An educator at the highest level of education available, in order to teach at this level, must have received the same level of education. Higher education jobs, in some instances, will require Doctorate’s Degrees from those hoping to obtain a teaching position at the college or university level. Many of these higher education positions go beyond teaching in the class room. Many are often employed to teach, but also, to further their careers.
